Dr. Sophie Layé is a neurobiologist by training and is the head of the NutriNeuro lab and the co-head of the International Associated Laboratory OptiNutriBrain (Laval univ/Bordeaux Univ, INRA) dedicated to fundamental and translational research in Nutrition and Neuroscience. She has wide experience in conducting translational research to study how nutrition contributes to well-being and protects from the development of neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative diseases. She coordinates the international NutriBrain school dedicated to nutrition and brain functions (Cajal Advanced Neuroscience Training Program). Since 2005, she has been regularly funded to do research (ANR, Aquitaine Regional Government, FRM, BPI, Eranet). She coordinates the scientific part of industrial projects (BPI) including an international consortium and 1 IEED (Excellence Institute, PIVERT), and the UMT (Unité Mixte technologique) ALICE with ITERG.
