Prof. Igor Sibon

Prof. Igor Sibon is a neurologist working in the stroke unit of Pellegrin Hospital. He obtained his PhD by doing work on the pathophysiological mechanisms of intracranial aneurysms. He did a post-doc at McGill University from 2004 to 2006 on PET imaging protocols in psychiatric disorders. In 2006, he joined the CNRS UMR 5231 and works now in the INCIA (Neuroimagery and Human cognition team). He became the head of the stroke unit in 2008 which became one of the leading three stroke units in France over a period of 3 years. He has developed new research projects based on the early identification of biomarkers of mood and cognitive post-stroke impairment.
