Prof. Marc Auriacombe is the medical director of the Addiction Treatment Services (Pôle Addictologie CH Charles Perrens/CHU in Bordeaux). Professor of Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine at the University of Bordeaux, and Adjunct Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA, he is the team leader of the addiction research group in SANPSY CNRS USR 3413 focused on the commonalities of addictive behaviors whether related to drugs or not (including gambling and food). He has been a member or collaborator of several French, European, North-American and International Agencies related to health and addictions. He was appointed by the American Psychiatric Association member of the Substance-Related Disorders DSM-5 Workgroup revision process (2007-2013).
